... Christmas Eve...

I was just wondering if anyone would like to join me in going to the Midnight Communion service on Christmas Eve at Sheffield Cathedral?

I'm not going to be able to go to church on Christmas day this year for the first time in my life (due to Rob's shifts- he's working boo hoo), and it'll also be the first time I won't see any of my family at Christmas time either (again due to Rob's shifts). But I'd really love to be able to see Christmas in with Jesus, a moment of calm amidst all the business (and horribly oppressive commercialism) of the season.

The service is at 11:30pm on Friday. If you want to come along, please let me know in the comments. Would be cool to see in Christmas with my "urban" family, if you're around!

it only takes a few minutes to make a big difference...

The European Commission is writing an action plan to
improve air quality in Europe. It will include
measures having a direct influence on our day to day
life. The way we move, the way we produce and use
energy, the air quality we want, the price of products
and services are all at issue in this plan. Therefore
your opinion on air pollution and its effects is of
great importance to us. It will help us finalize the
plan.

The questions are of importance to the future action
plan. The links provide you with background
information on where emissions come from, their impact
on health and ecosystems and on how the emissions and
their impacts might evolve up to the year 2020.

This consultation will remain open until 31 January
2005. The results will be published in March 2005.
Your answers will remain totally anonymous, except for
the organisations choosing to give their name.

Yo.

I bought the first series of Yes Prime Minister the other day. I forgot how sharp it is, it's very funny. Anyone else a fan?

Me me me me me

It's my birthday on tuesday and instead of not telling anyone and then getting annoyed on the day that I'm not doing anything, I'm going to do something. Hurrah.

Here's my plan,
6.20pm Order and eat takeaway at mine (246 Granville Road)
7.46pm Walk to the showroom
7.58pm Meet others at showroom for a quick drink
8.30pm Watch 'It's a Wonderful Life'
10.52pm Pop back home for a late night sit (maybe even another drink and a mince pie)

You are all welcome to join me for some, all, or none of the fesivities.

Oooh, and if anyone could possibly be on Dan duty for the evening (ie, drive him to and from l'optital) that would be grand. He'd like to come to the watching of the film part of the evening (from 7.58pm to 10.52pm)

The Friday Night Movie

This Friday we’re packing a school lunch and going off to watch Napoleon Dynamite at the Showroom. Empire describes it thus, “Picture a redhead so carroty he makes Chris Evans look blond. Add a vacantly sagging jaw, half-closed eyes and the gait of an orang-utan, and you have Napoleon Dynamite, an appropriate title character for such a self-consciously bizarro indie comedy” and gave it four stars.
The film starts at 8.50 but planning to meet up an hour before again to get tickets (as last time, the cinema was fairly full) and to have a drink. Hope to see y’all there.

A Rather Strange Case of Deja Vu

Am feeling a bit perkier so I’m trying to do the memory work group again. So if any of you want to volunteer (again) to be part of a memory group for an evening discussing your encounters with the council, that’d be great. Again, I need about 6-9 people and was thinking of doing it next Monday night (13th) at 8:00 at mine (246 Granville Road). I’ll provide drinks, brownies (and even mince pies) and pens and it’d be great if anyone can help. If you’re planning on coming it’d be great if you’d post below so I have some idea of numbers in advance.
